Back to work tomorrow

I have been off work now for just over 2 weeks, and i have loved every minute of it. I came back from Greenbelt today. I had a fantastic time. It was really nice meeting up with some more folks off the ship and it was also really good spending time with the ones i already know. I am usually am ‘miss organised’ and make sure that when im going anywhere, that i make sure that i pack everything i need and even stuff that i may need. I thought it was rather amusing that next to my sunglasses i had packed my coat and scarf ( i did in the end need both, so that was good) I did however forget to pack my wristband and ended up having to pay half price for a new one. grrrrrrrr. I should hopefully be able to claim the money back for the second ticket. I also managed to get myself rather sunburnt on my face and arms, so that looks rather lovely. Anyway my washing is in the process of being washed and im now relaxing in my pjs and not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

Im married :-)

Yes as from friday last week i am now married. I am at this moment wearing the ring to prove it and my veil is hanging up at home waiting to be put into a box.

hee hee i dont actually think that it is legal the fact that i married both a man and woman at the same time. It was all part of the uk tour that some of us did on ship of fools. We had to have a picture took outside Gretna green and then the next day we decided to take it a step further and walk round for the day with tiaras and veils. lol

It was a really mad week and i had soooo much fun. We did lots of fantastic stuff and got to meet loads of wonderful people. Apart from gaining a husband and a wife, on the downside my injured ankle played up a couple of times but i did manage to do 99% of the walking during the week. I did however get a blister on the bottom of my foot which is quite painful, but it is gettting better now. It finally hit me how tired i was on sunday night, once i had got back home, but i had a great time, so it was completely worth it.

Monday i did my ironing and popped round a friends moms house as mel was back from cornwall for the afternoon, so i spent a couple of hours drinking red wine and eating grapes. Tuesday i had lunch with a woman from church which was lovely and last night i went to the cinema with sue to see bruce almighty and then went to the pub to have a chat and catch up as i havnt seen her for ages.

Today i plan to do very little, as tomorrow i have to go food shopping and then im off to Greenbelt for the weekend.

yeyyy im on holiday

yes i know its sad that im stuck at the computer on the first day of my holiday. For any of you that havnt heard of ship of fools. Its a christian website. Over the years there have been a number of meets organised. This week there are a few of us traveling the country doing daft stuff and meeting up with loads of folks. The reason i am on the computer at the moment is because we are waiting for some of the folks to turn up. We have sorted lunch so now we are just pottering about in Tamworth youth centre. Tomorrow we are off to Cambridge and after that most of the rest of country. The weather is boiling at the mo, so being in a hot car for hours at a time should be interesting, but im sure it will be fine.

Anyway, i may not add to this while i am away, so if not then i will log on again in a week.

Interviews

Over the last couple of days, i have interviewed 9 people for two part time positions at work. They actually went really well, and i wasnt as nervous as i thought i would be. It was really wierd seeing the interview process from the other side. Some of them were really nervous and aprarantly the one lad left the shop looking like he was going to throw up. I didnt think i was scary at all in the interviews, i even brought them all a drink of pop so they had something to drink while the interview took place. There were four people who were really good and the two that i chose start on friday just for a couple of hours to get them used to it. The other two that were really good are going to be working in another local store as they also need staff and it saves that manager having to interview himself, as he is really overworked at the moment.

Only two shifts to go until i break up for two weeks. I cant wait im really looking forward to my holidays, although the first one i have no idea how im getting there but it will sort itself out.

right im off to work in a bit so byee

handbags and teenmags

ok i admit it, every since i was a teenager i have loved magazines. It all started when the older girl who used to live next door gave me her old copies of ‘blue jeans’ and jackie annuals. In the mid 80s i was the proud owner of the issues from 1978 and 1979 and i loved them. I felt very grown up. I loved the photo stories and everything, those pictures of donny osmund and keith chegwin yum, hee hee. Following that i used to get my own weekly or monthly magazines and at one point i used to get about 6 arrive through the letter box. They included ’smash hits’, ‘number 1′,’just seventeen’ etc. I was even the proud owner of all 40 issues of a teen mag called ‘princess’ which suddenly stopped printing and even to this day, im gutted that i dont know what happened in some of the photo stories. <blush>. I used to love it when you got free gifts in these magazines and as imbarrassing as it is, i still love buying magazines and im always tempted to buy one if there is a free gift of some sort. The amount of free books and eyeshadows and bags i have got over the years is amazing. Yesturday after work i was doing a bit of shopping in town and i popped into tesco’s to get some ciggies and there before me on the counter i saw a magazine which was giving away a free bag. My eyes were instantly drawn to it. The magazines i usually buy now are more grown up, and i am very proud of my free bag from ‘cosmo’ or my free book from ’she’

This free bag however was in a teen mag called ’sugar’ and i have to say the temptation got the better of me. So now at 28 along with my purchase of ciggies i am the proud owner of a teen mag. It was actually a quite good read and hoorah i have my new free bag, which i may take on holiday to put my toiletries in it.

Anyway onto other things. Today at work i have to recruit some new staff and will be interviewing people for the first time ever. I have an interview and 3pm,4pm,5pm,6pm and 7pm. Then tomorrow i have one at 2pm and another at 4pm. Its very scary as i havnt done it before, but i hope that i can come accross as confident and friendly with them. I have to be at work at 2.30 so it will give me a bit of time to go through the questions i have to give them and i will also get the kettle on ready so we can have a cuppa while we chat. I do hope i manage to pick the right people for the job. Anyway thats all for now

1 more week to go till my holiday

I so cant wait until next friday. I will be working 9-5 and then i have a whole two and a bit weeks off. Before i break up though, i have the week from hell at work. The boss is on holiday again for a week and the new store proceedures have got to be 100% in place and its down to me to make it happen.

Monday evening i went to the pub to catch up with some friends. The one is leaving to go to Cornwall with her boyfriend, so it was a leaving drink. It was a lovely evening and chat consisted of who has had the worst ex boyfriends ( i was actually in the top 2 of who had had the wierdest or stupidest, which is quite an achievement) the rest of the chat went a bit girly and i had to admit i am a bit of a toiletries snob. We also found out that the moisteriser i use contains something that sounds like buttery sperm, which after a few glasses of wine is rather amusing, if not a little imature.

I had thursday and friday off this week, so now have a seven shift stretch to get though.

Thursday i didnt have much planned. In the day i sorted out my room, i only did it about 6 months ago and i still managed to throw away 3 large bags of rubbish. I finally packed up the last of the engagement pressies into a box and they are ready to put into the loft. I have no idea what i want to do with them. There are some lovely things, but im not sure if i want to use them in the future. It is a bit of a dilema as my friends had put such thought into them and they have very good taste so it would be a shame not to use them, but do i really want a reminder of one of the biggest farces in my life. I also still have the ring. Again as beautiful as it is, i wont be wearing it again, even though some folks think its ok to wear on my other hand. I dont think so.

Thursday night my nephew stayed over. We spent the evening playing a golf game on the playstation and then did some art stuff. I have to say im not very good at art but the charcole drawing i did of a vase and tulips was actually quite good. My nephew thought i was very clever until he went into my room and noticed a large picture of a simular drawing on my wall and realised i had copied the idea. lol

We then went to bed and played cards until he fell asleep. He had to be up early as his dad was coming at 8am to take him fishing. I was meeting up with someone i met at a party so i had to also be up early. It was an interesting day. I took him to the blackcoutry museum and then we had a late lunch at my fave day time restaurant. I then left him to travel on while i did some last minute holiday shopping. I also managed to bump into a few people i know so that was nice to have a quick chat. Last night i just stayed in and slobbed infront of the telly and went on the computer for a bit.

im off to work in a bit so i will leave it at that.
