The mystery of the five pence!!!!!

It is probably natural that working in a shop i am going to find small change dropped on the shop floor, but something really bizarre keeps happening. I work 5 days a week and i can guarantee probably 3 out of those 5 shifts i will find a 5p on the shop floor by the counter area. When i found the first few i just put it down to natural occurances, but this is getting silly now. It is happening far to often. Who is putting those 5p’s on the floor? and why is it always a 5p?
Very bizarre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Late Lent Progress!!!!

Well on the whole ive been really good. I cant believe that two films i have wanted from work have finally gone onto exrental to be sold. They are £2.99 each and at ‘buy one get one free’, they are a huge bargain. Still i have resisted. Also a film i have wanted to buy as come out for sale. ‘Love Actually’ as been released early, so instead of being available on the usual monday it was available for sale and rent since friday. I watched ‘Love Actually’ at the cinema and thought it was fantastic. I of course will just rent it until my lent time as past.
The biggest waste of money i have done is that i have managed to lose £40 :-( We won another incentive at work and you get to pick somewhere where you would like vouchers for. I decided again to have mine for Sainsburys as dad does the weekly shopping there anyway and i could give him the vouchers and get the £40 in cash. I put them back in the envelope and then put them in my bag. When i got home they wasnt in there, so i assumed they had fell out somewhere in the office. I have had the office upside down though, moving filing cabinets and everything, but i cant find them. I hope that they have just accidently been binned and not that someone as stolen them. It makes for a awful atmosphere at work if there is a thief and i cant think of anyone who would want to. but then you never no, do u? If it was a case that they were stolen as they were needed to get a weekly shop, then i hope that they have enjoyed them and it as helped to save them some money.
If someone had said that they were short of money i would have happily gave them away. Not that im saying that im some great wonderful person, but we are called to help eachother in times of need. Anyway enough of my going on about the vouchers. They are gone and nothing is going to bring them back.
I am working tomorrow night and then i have tuesday and wednesday off. Im off to see JT. I cant wait as ive been missing him so much. Its really nice that we get to chat on the phone and text loads, but its not the same as being there with him. I love that he brings me a cup of tea in the morning to wake me up and i miss just being around him. Ahh i really must stop being so gushy on here lol

I have the Devils dog

When we first had max just over a year ago, he was such a quiet, gentle thing. Mom and Dad got him from the dogs home when he was about 12months old. For the first few weeks he didnt even bark and would just lie on your lap and fall asleep. The last 12 months however he has turned into a nonstop barking, bouncy, lively thing. Dont get me wrong i love him to bits and wouldnt have him anyother way, as he has so much character. He still lies on me now, but he preferes to lie around my neck or he just falls asleep on my arm.
Wednesday night JT picked me up from work at 10.30pm and stayed at mine. The next day we popped into town and then had to take the wonderful max to the vets for his 12 months checkup. Oh the fun. Max had to be sedated as he was sooo manic, and even then it took two of us to hold him down why the vet clipped his toenails. The sedative finally kicked in on the way home and once home he fell asleep for most of the evening.
I left JT to make himself some tea while i went to housegroup and as he had a fair way to drive he left mine about 9pm, so we just texted goodnight to eachother.
Today i worked the day shift at work and this evening i have been round Justines house for tea. It was so lovely to spend time with her and we managed to consume nearly 2 bottles of wine. oops. I was planning to do my ironing when i got home at 10.30 but ive just done my work top for tomorrow and i will do the rest tomorrow evening.

Wonderful week off!!!!

Oh the wonderful joy of not being at work for a whole 7 days :-D . I spent the first couple of days just relaxing and generally pottering about. Wednesday i had my driving lesson and then popped into town. Thursday teatime i was getting on a train to spend the rest of my holiday at JTs :-D
Thursday night we just stayed in and watched telly and also an episode of the dilbert video that i had got for him. Friday day we had to run a few errands and also pop to the shopping centre. I did very well and only brought toiletries and a couple of books that mom had already have me the money for. We also had to buy wrapping paper and cards for birthday and mothers day which is THIS SUNDAY for those who have forgotten.
Im so impressed but slightly gutted that JT is better at wrapping gifts than me. Although when the time comes to have to wrap up lots of things at once i will be very grateful that this is something he is good at.
Friday night we went out for tea at some friends of JTs. They are really lovely and cooked an amazing meal in there lovely home. Me and JT took the pudding. We made apple crumble. We used apples from JTs garden and i slaved ;-) over a mixing bowl rubbing the flour and butter to make the crumble. It was a really nice evening and as promised i said i would mention them in my wiblog ( hello Lorna and Neil <waves> ).
Saturday day we had a really relaxing day and then was going to the murder mystery evening at Jasons house. It was a great night. Unfortunatly my feather boa not only molted but also turned the back of my neck and my arms black ( oops ) oh and also i found i couldnt walk properly in my new healed shoes lol
Sunday we went to lunch at some other friends of JTs. Again they were absolutly lovely and they have the most amazing house. It was really nice, 11 of us all sat round the table enjoying the food and eachothers company.
After that we had to pop back to JTs as i had to pack my bag and then we went to his church. It was a really good meeting and was really good to be able to make it to church. After church we went back to JTs for an hour and then had to leave to get to the station at about 9ish. My train wasnt until 9.48pm but i was treating us to a Burger King tea.
I then got on my train to come home. It was until half way home that i realised that we had been over charged in BK. £13 for a beanburger meal, a bacon cheeseburger meal plus one portion of onion rings seemed far too much. As the meals would be £6 each as the onion rings are only about 99p. Hmmm so the lent thing of not wasting money hasnt worked. Although that wasnt my fault. Apart from the fact that i realised too late.
Anyway dad picked me up from Brum and i got home about 11.30pm. I ended up pottering on the computer till about 2am and then went to bed as i had to be at the bus stop at 7.50am to get to work for 8.30am. I got to work for 8.24am so very impressed. It was a busy but good day and managed to get everything done by 5.15ish.
Today im off again and i plan to sort out a compilition tape of my fave songs and also have a nice long bath.

Late Lent!!!!!!!!

This year i was contemplating what to give up for Lent. My initial thought was to give up something that was very important in my daily life so i was going to give up Salad and Jogging ;-) Anyway after serious thought i realised that there were possibly loads of things i could give up ie Chocolate. Although i remember the last time i tried that about 10 years ago. I lasted 28 days without any chocolate. The only problem was, is that i started really craving meat. This was a huge problem as i had been a vegetarian for about 6 years. I kept having dreams about burgers and pieces of chicken and finally sucumed to eating meat again. I remember sitting there in a cafe with my friend looking at the bacon sandwich i ordered and 10minutes had past before i even plucked the courage to pick it up. The same thing happened at the age of about 19 when i kept having dreams about going to the shop and buying 10 benson and hedges ( cigarettes for the non British readers or those who dont know what they are ) Anyway to get back the subject before i sound too bizarre.
Tonight i finally got sorted what im going to give up for lent. Yes i know its late but better late than never. As it involves money, i will try and do this thing until the 24th of April. That is my payday. There is no point doing it to this pay day as its only 2 weeks away and not really a challenge.
Ok this is my thoughts…. I spend far too much money. Yes i know we all seem to do that, but i have this amazing nack of buying too much crap. Obviously i dont think its crap as otherwise i wouldnt buy it. What i tend to do though is buy stuff as i think its a bargain and i may need it in the future. For example. Today i brought a new fitted valance for my bed £7, A long pair of denim curtains £12 and a white antique style mirror £5. All bargains? YES. Did i really need them? NO!!!!!!!!!
I then got to thinking about the other things i buy which arnt essential. So I will no longer be popping onto ebay for the 46 days duration. I will even attempt to not buy my lunch while at work. I realised tonight that if i stop buying a sandwhich meal deal when im at work then i could be saving nearly £100 a month. I will be making things at home to take to work over the next 46 days.
This is my pledge. For the next 46 days i will only spend money on things that are essential. I will not be spending money on so called bargains. It will be interesting to see how much i actually save.
The fact that i get money every month from my job should be a privilage and although its ok to buy nice things for myself i have to no when to stop and think " Do i really need this?"
I will keep you all posted on how i get on and also the things that i chose not to buy over the next 46 days.

My day off!!!!!

As i mentioned in my last entry, JT was no longer going to be here for the weekend. He was feeling a bit better on the Thursday night, but still not able to travel as he hasnt got his glasses fixed yet. Thursday night i ended up watching a movie with mom and dad. ‘Narrow Escape’ Its a true story and a great film. We then watch a Peter Kay video which was lots of fun. I ended up finally getting to bed about 5am. As i didnt have much planned for friday, i decided not to set my alarms and just get up when i was ready to.
I woke up about 12.45 to find 3 missed calls on my phone and a couple of text messages. They were all sent off JT at about 11am ish. They were basically stating that there was a delivery arriving and i needed to be up and dressed. I rang him up and found out that his friend Ray had rang him wanting to know if he wanted to join him on a long drive somewhere. To cut along story short they decided to come to my house to see me :-D
I then found out they would be arriving in about 25 minutes. So it was a mad rush to get showered and dressed. I was so excited but in my mind i also had the words of a great film i watched the other day running in my head "He cant see me yet, im not even cute yet" hee hee
Im so glad i noticed my phone messages as he was 25 mins away from seeing me looking my normal just woke up self, of dodgy hair and Pjs. Not a great look.
Anyway 30mins later i start walking down my stairs and he is there at the bottom of them waiting to great me. We walked into the kitchen and he had even brought me some flowers. Two wonderful bunches of Tulips. This time a Red bunch and a Purple bunch. They are wonderful. He really is a complete sweetheart awwwwwwww
Ok i will stop gushing now hee hee. We then all went to Ikea and then popped round some shops and then went back to mine for a bit. They had to leave by about 7.30pm. His friend was lovely also and he is a complete star for driving JT all the way here so we could see eachother. I was really dreading not seeing JT for nearly 2 weeks so this was the most wonderful suprise. I finally got round to doing my ironing about 10.30pm but i didnt mind as it was an excellent day.
Today i worked the day shift at work and this evening i finally managed to chat to Hannah on the phone. She as been in Uganda since about October time and is back in England for a couple of weeks. I was gutted that i was unable to meet up with her last sunday, but id already arranged to be in York.
Tomorrow im on a 2.30-10.30 shift and then im off for a whole week. I cant wait.

Addicted !!!

Im completely addicted to Ebay. Its brilliant. I keep going on the going, going, gone bit and picking up loads of bargains. Its not so great though when the post person knocks on the door at 7.30am to give me my parcel, but when i open it, its brilliant to see what ive ordered. I keep buying old style stonewear bottles and jars. They look really good and they all have the same colour scheme of creams and browns.

Last weekend i went up to JTs and then off to york for the weekend. It was really good and his parents seem nice. JT however started feeling poorly on the sunday so we didnt make it to his church. He as been poorly all week and off work, so it means he wont be here this weekend :-(
This past week he as been really bored staying at home, but i have managed to receive endless texts off him each day, which generally start between 7am-8am. I dont mind though as its always nice to hear from him and as im off next week, im at his house from the Thursday evening until Sunday evening.
I cant wait to see him and he also has some brilliant things planned. These include meeting up with some more of his friends and also on the saturday night we are at Jasons birthday party. Which is a Murder mystery evening. Its set in the 1920s so yesturday i popped into town and managed to get myself some fantastic things from a authentic second hand shop called ‘Second To None’ They have the most brilliant things in there. I remember a few years back getting myself a dark brown 70s style suede jacket for only £9. They even do the most wonderful antique jewellery.
Im so glad im off tomorrow. Im gutted JT wont be here, but i have an exciting day planned of doing the weekly shop with dad and also doing my ironing. Hmmmm very exciting lol
Right its 4.50am so i had better get myself to bed.
