Leaving Do’s 2,3 and 4!!!!!!

Last thursday i had leaving do number 2. It was just a quiet drink in one the local pubs with some folks that ive worked with from different stores. It was really nice and i got given some pressies which included a huge beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Friday day i had to work and then friday night it was the Ship of Fools leaving do. It was a great night and really excellent to catch up with everyone. My own personal highlight of the evening was when a mystery guest arrived. Our very own wibloging posh bird…. Jack the Lass. It was so good to see her and i was soo touched that she came up to Brum to the meet.
Saturday day, me and JT took my nephew out for the day. We did loads of cool stuff. The main bits being Bowling in the morning and in the afternoon we took him Taboggining(spell) JT and my nephew took to the slopes and i sat relaxed on the balcony with a capachino and camera in hand. It was great to spend some time with my nephew and will really miss him. I hope he is able to visit loads.
Saturday night was leaving do number 4. This time it was a meal out with my friends from church. The meal was fab and a good time was had by all.
Sunday morning we made it to church. Im so glad my last service was a family service as they are always brilliant and it was a great way to end my 14 years at the same church. After church i cooked lunch and then we had to pack another car load full of my stuff. JT then took me to work and he headed off home.
Monday day i was at work 9-5 for my very last shift. I got given some really nice pressies. It was such a manic shift so i dont think its hit me yet that ive actually left. I think at the moment its finally made it real that im leaving home and moving to Sheffield, so leaving my job of 7 and half years hasnt really sunk in yet.

Hills and other drivers!!!!

The two reasons why i failed my driving test for the 3rd time :-(

Im really gutted that i failed as i actually did a really good drive. I only had 7 minor marks and your allowed 16.
I messed up in 3 areas 2 of which resulted in a fail.
The first one was my reverse round a corner. Im never brilliant at this, but ive been able to sort out any error in my lessons if ive over or under turned the steering wheel at the bend, so i wasnt overly nervous about doing it. It completly threw me though when my starting position was half way up a hill and had to reverse up the hill to turn the corner. The second one was as i was approaching another hill. I thought i had enough speed to go into 3rd and then 4th. Half way up the hill the car was struggling a bit so i corrected the error and went back down to 2nd gear. This would have normally only resulted in getting a minor mark, but there was another car behind me and it caused the other car to slow down. So again a instant fail :-(
Im so annoyed with myself that ive failed again. I checked out the DVLA website when i got home and discovered that there are no test dates available until the middle of December. Ive now got to decide whether i book another test for round here and come back to parents for a couple of days or start from scratch and book a test in Sheffield. I really like my instructor and the actual route wasnt that hard, but then im not sure if i should just take my next test in Sheffield as i have to get used to the roads there anyway. Oh well, its something i will have to leave thinking about for a couple of weeks as i have loads of other stuff to get sorted before then.

One down Three to go !!!!

Although i dont leave work until the 21st of september. I had my first leaving do tonight. There are another couple of staff leaving so we decided to merge our leaving do’s into one. Working shifts also means that a couple of folks still have to work, so again it made more sense just to have one rather than three.
As ive been with the company for 7 and a half years there have been loads of staff that i have worked with over the years who now work in different stores. It would have been lovely to invite them to tonights meal but as it wasnt just my leaving do, i didnt think it was fair to take over with inviting extra folks. I didnt think i was going to find time to meet up with everyone else, but a couple of the guys were asking if there was anything planned and suggested that we just had a quiet drink in one of the local pubs. I have managed to sort out a night, so on the 16th i am meeting up with some of the folks from different stores and also my current boss as i have worked with her on and off for my whole time of working with the company. Its really nice that they want to meet up and will be a great chance to say my goodbyes to them all. We tend to chat randomly over the week at work as we have to pass info between the stores, but will be great to actually spend some time with them socially.
On the 17th there is the Ship of fools brum leaving do. There are 3 folks leaving Brum so again the evening is shared. Im sure i will make it to Brum meets in the future, but its going to be fantastic to meet up with everyone. My fourth leaving do is on the 18th and that is going to be a meal out with my friends from church. I think im going to be absolutly tired out by the end of the week, but its going to be so worth it as i will be getting to catch up with so many folks and to also say my goodbyes.
