Answers to Jacks questions…….finally!!!!!

On Jacks blog she has left me some questions to answer so here goes….

1. As many readers know, you’ve recently got married. Just over a month after the wedding, has anything surprised you about married life? (keep it clean! ;) )
I think one of the things that has suprised me most is that there never seems to be a free moment. Im not saying i want free time away from JT but there suddenly doesnt seem enough hours in the day. I love going out and meeting folks and doing new things, but im also a homebody and its important for me to make sure our home looks nice. All the jobs dont have to be completed straight away, but i feel i can relax when things are tidy (ish) and that i dont have to sit there thinking what needs to be done. At the moment there is always something to do. I remember thinking the other week that as soon as all the jobs are done we can really start enjoying everything, but then i realised that there will always be something to do, whether its cutting the grass or taking kids to school etc. At the end of the day, if we keep living our life thinking, once this and that is out the way then you miss out on the current. This is the first few months of our married life and we dont have to have everything looking perfect, but we do need to make sure that we put in quality time into our marriage and that is what is the most important! I love relaxing with JT and doing daft stuff and learning to relax is something im getting better at :-D

2. Until recently you worked in the film industry. Have you ever met anyone famous? If so, who and what were they like? And if not, who would you most like to meet?

My ‘who i have met famous’ moments are really lame <blush> I once met ‘Billy’ from the comedy show ‘Bread’ at Alton Towers. I was getting on a London bus the other year and Christopher Biggins was getting off and i noticed he buys his toiletries from the same shop as me (Molton Brown). I have sat in a pub having a drink with ‘Hair Flick’ (spell) from Ello Ello. Oooooh and my fav was when i worked at Blockbuster There was a chap who was in a couple of years above me at school who i had a huge crush on. When he was at his parents house, he used to come into the shop practically every day. We used to have a little chat. Anyway although his main stuff has been in the theatre, he has been on the telly. At one point he was Sharons lawyer in EastEnders when she was divorcing Grant Michell. He was a lovely bloke and would be good to see what he is up to now. Although just as a friend as im a happily married woman now, and no one is as lovely as my JT :-D
Famous people id like to meet are Dame Judy Dench, Lionel Blair, Billy Connelly and i would have loved to have met Richard Whitely.

3. What’s the best bargain you’ve ever bought?
Ahh this is impossible to answer as i love shopping for bargains. JT says one of my quotes is…." but it was a bargain" I love being able to get something really cool for a couple of pound. My biggest large bargain though was this year when we got a gorgeous dresser, table and four pine chairs for £100. We then got a really nice chunky old fashioned chest of drawers for £30. When we was in Leek over the weekend i managed to get this really cool cadbury tin which is in the shape of a book. I got it for £2 and im looking foward to seeing if its worth anything. (thanks for reminding me about that one mom).

4. What has made you laugh out loud recently, and what has brought a tear to your eye?
JT always makes me laugh. It makes me laugh even more when he is really laughing about something and his whole body laughs. Apart from that, work makes me laugh at the moment. We have such great fun im always wiping tears from my eyes as we are laughing that much.
My dads father of the bride speech brought a little tear to my eye. My parents were so brilliant on the day and i was very proud of both of them. The last two times ive cried have been while watching TV. The first one was the program called Transformation. It was the episode where the overweight kids were trying to lose weight. There was one chap who got really upset as he had lost weight but his dad had died from obese related deseases a few years back and he really wanted his dad to see what he has achieved. The other one was while watching Paradise road the other night. When they start singing it gets me everytime, Its very moving.

5. What 3 pieces of advice would you give to us hopeless singletons who haven’t managed to hook up with the man of our dreams like you have?
Ooh blimey. Im probably not the best person to give advice on this matter. Before JT my experience with men wasnt the best. I always managed to pick men who were either weird, had some social problem, was a complete arsehole or indeed all the above. I Think most women go through that though and at the time you dont actually think they are that bad (rose specks and all that). So here goes my three bits of advice…
1) I have realised though that not all men are like that and there are a big % of men who are just as nervous around women and find us very intimidating. Us girls are a scary bunch and we can also be the three things i mentioned above. lol
2) Although there are some men who are shallow and only look at appearance, most men only notice our faults when we keep pointing them out to them.
3) Never be desperate, most men and other women can spot it a mile off.
4) I know im only allowed 3 but i wanted to add this one…. Once married or in a couple never be smug and try to fix up single friends, Always include them in your social life, but never, i repeat never invite a single bloke or girl to a party when everyone else is in a couple
(that one may just be me though. I hated it when it happened to me and didnt go). oooh and dont keep talking about your other half. (this is one i really need to learn as i always do it and must drive people mad)

Anyway i think that is all my questions. Ive really enjoyed answering them and i hope ive done the questions justice. Thanks Jack.

Lovely weekend!!!!!!!

We are usually so busy over the weekend so it was really nice to do lots of lovely things this weekend.
Saturday day time we met up with my dad in Leek. My parents have been fantastic and gave us their Gorgeous garden table and 6 chairs. It also has a parasol and cushions etc. JT however forgot to pick up the legs for the table so my dad brought them with him. We looked round the antique market and had a nice pub lunch. My dad then showed us some of his favourite parts of that end of the Peaks and also where he camped as a young boy with his school. We left my dad about 6pm and headed back home. I was really happy that i only ended up missing 5 minutes of X factor. Excellent start to the show. There as always been a small part of me that would love to audition just to see if i could get through, but it would be everything else that you would have to do that would be even scarier.
After X factor we had tea. I then decided i wanted to make a start on sanding down our new garden table and chairs with our new sander. We got so mucky as the dust went everywhere. I then jumped in the shower and while JT was pottering about i watched the last half of ‘As good as it gets’ on the telly. Wonderful film, although saying that i didnt think much of it when i first watched it. After the film JT was ready for bed but i wasnt sleepy so i watched the rest of LOST that id taped and silly me decided to watch the very moving film ‘Paradise Road’ which was on At 12ish and ended up going to bed a 2.30am argghhhhhhhhhhh.
I cant remember if it was friday or saturday night but i also got JT roped into helping me make up some wedding favours for some friends who are getting married in a couple of weeks.
Sunday we had to get up early as JT was sorting out the projector system at church. He has been working really hard on it all week sometimes not getting in until after 9pm and then he had to be there sunday so show people the new system as its all computer based.
After church we went to some friends for a BBQ we are looking to join their celebration at church so it was a chance to meet folks and also to have a meal together. After the BBQ we went home and ended up playing 2 games of Monopoly in the garden. Now JT usually beats me at this game but i managed to win twice. The main highlight was being able to put a hotel on both Park Lane and Mayfair. Even better was when JT landed on Park Lane and then because he rolled a double he got to roll again and got a double 1 straight onto Mayfair Mwaaaaaahhhhhhh.
Sunday evening we just relaxed and then J and E came round as they have been in America for a week so it ws good to catch up with them.
Tonight with work we are off on a staff night out and are going to an Indian restaurant. Most people after it are then going clubbing but i think im getting old as by 10.30 i will be ready to go home and have a hot chocolate before bed. Also i wont have seen JT since this morning so it will be nice to give him a big hug. I know its daft but although its important to do some things without eachother, and we both enjoy that, I always miss him when im not with him. awwwwwwwwwww sick bucket hee hee
Anyway my cup of tea is going cold so id better get back to drinking it.

QUOTE OF THE DAY!!!!!!!

I PUT MY HANDS UP FOR JIMMY KRANKY BUT I DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE UMPALUMPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now im guessing your wondering why this sentence came out of my mouth? or maybe your not but im going to tell you anyway.
We are a really good team at work and have such a laugh, although we do tease eachother a lot (all in good fun though) There is one girl who is really sweet. The one day she was on about how she dressed up as Chucky for her old job and then it hit me…. JIMMY KRANKY, You look like Jimmy Kranky. This however wasnt possibly the best thing i could say, although it was took ok Phew.
Today we were talking about Charlie and the Chocolate factory and Marie and Paul were talking about who Judy looked like. I didnt realise they were refering to her resemblance to an Umpalumpa, so i said ooooh which one as in which Character. They then thought i was taking the mic and saying which umpalumpa. Anyway in mock discust is how i managed to come out with the above quote. I know its a case of ‘you had to be there’ but we all thought it was really funny and i like using this blog to remember things although i tend to leave it too late most of the time and then the moment passes so there is no point adding them.
Right back to work and i must remember to answer the questions Jackie has put for me on her blog.

Where shall i get my vouchers for?

As i mentioned before i have won £30 worth of vouchers for being employee of the month and now i have the task of deciding where i have them for. Although it would be lovely to get some new clothes i have to admit with a wardrobe already bursting full of them i dont actually need any new ones, so using them for clothes is pointless. I think im tempted to get them for a store that sells a variety of products so i can mix and match what i buy. At the moment im thinking of getting them for places like WH Smiths or ASDA so then i get a choice of CDs, Books or DVDs which seems like a good idea. I will keep you posted on what i decide to get.
Today i went with E to pick up her wedding dress. She came with me when i was picking up mine so it was really nice to be able to do the same for her. She looked really stunning in her dress and the extra things she got aswell are also lovely. She is going to look very beautiful on the day. After we finished at the wedding dress shop it was then a drive back to Sheffield so that i could get to work for 12pm. Im here till late tonight and then im back home to have tea and get my bag ready for tomorrow.
After work tomorrow JT is picking me up and we are heading to my parents for the weekend. We are also stopping in to see my nephew first as he is off on holiday on saturday and it would be a shame to be at my parents and not get to see him. This will be the first time we have seem my parents since the wedding so it will be really good to see them. On saturday morning we are also popping over to see Vicki and Dans new baby and take over a card and pressie. Im so glad i didnt buy a newborn outfit as the baby is already over a month old. Vicki is the girl i used to share a house with and she was also meant to be one of my bridesmaids but being really to give birth about the same time as the wedding it really wasnt going to happen. Im so thrilled for them both and cant wait to see their baby.
I hope i dont get too broody ;-) We arnt trying for a baby just yet. we want to wait a year of being married, plus i have to wait a year after having my appendix out. Also im joining weightwatchers with E on tuesday so i can slim down before i even try to become a mom. All very exciting and a great incentive.

ooooh BTW

JT always teases me that i keep sending emails saying oooh BTW and then tell him stuff that i forgot to put in the previous one.
Its been really funny at work again. We have been bringing in our CDs to listen to and one of my choices is a fantastic CD…… GREASE 2.
I love the film and its been really funny to listen to it and people singing along. I was half expecting a spontanious dance routine to start up at some points lol.
Anyway i thought it would be good to put GREASE 2 into GOOGLE and it actually has its own website, its one of the best ones ive seen in ages and its so fantastically cheesy. Click on the section that says LONE RIDER, Its one for the laydddiieeees out there ;-)
I must remember to get the suggestions from the suggestion box from Marie as there are some brilliant ones that i want to post on here as they are really funny

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!!

Whoever told me that once the wedding is over you will have loads more free time was a liar.
We seem to be busier than ever. There is a bit of stuff we want to do our home but it all takes time and money.
We are a good team together as im good at getting the motavation in the first place and then JT is best at getting me to stop. Id happily carry on until things get sorted, but its important that we get relaxation time also.
Neither of us like to say no to things but sometimes we have had to say we arnt available. Last night it would have been really lovely to go to the cinema with some friends but we had already decided that it was going to be a night where we spent some time together. The only thing i did last night job wise was cook tea and did larger amounts so we had tea ready for small group tonight and we didnt have to rush getting stuff done today. Our small group meets at 7pm and we have tea together before having a short prayer, praise and word time. Its a really nice format and it also means it doesnt go on untill after 10pm cause it hasnt started till 8pm.
Anyway back to what i was talking about, So after i made tea, Shepherds pie with mince and 6 veg (very healthy) we had a game of cards in the lounge. Although i lost it was really nice to just sit and relax.
Im at work till 6.30 and JT is picking me up, so will get home about 6.45. Which is why i cooked the meal the night before so it can just go into the oven to cook through. i will be getting my domestic goddess badge soon hee hee
