Ok i will start with a smaller thing that happened. During the staff christmas party, Our top boss Amanda was giving small talks to give out vouchers and certificates to people who had stood out as good workers etc. There were also some silly awards that got won. I had to stand up and collect the award for…………………………….
CHATTERBOX OF THE OFFICE
<blush>
I was speechless when i got up to collect my certificate. I even got a gift of the Mr Chatterbox book from the Mr Men series. lol
JT thought it was hilarious as did the other staff members.
Ok this is the major one now. im still cringing when i think of it.
All the girls decided to dress up for the night and so i joined in and wore a skirt. I even wore my knee high boots which have a bit of a heel. I actually felt quite grown up and looked quite smart, even if i do say so my self. All dignity however left after about an hour into the party. Bear in mind i am also still sober at this point.
Im my younger days i always used to do this silly thing at nightclubs where i would hold onto a chair etc and do a mock poll dance thing (non seedy btw) I decided to show a couple of work friends this dance. Bear in mind also that its been about 8 years since i last did it and i always used to wear flatish shoes.
The seating by the bar is fitted and there is a piece of wood at the ends which are used to enclose it and also be used as a arm rest.(didnt know they were only held on with one nail) This seemed like the perfect thing to hold on to. hmmmmmmm
I do my first slide down with my knees bent and as im about half way back up the wood decides to come away from the rest of the seating and i fall back onto my bum. I thought i may get away with it looking like id just slipped when the piece of wood came crashing on top of me <blush>I look up to find people leaning over me to see if im ok. Marie also drops to the floor laughing and giving a me a big hug. Very very embarrasing but i also try to laugh it off the best i can. When i got back up i straightened myself out and said " yes but did i still look sexy?" hee hee
People in the office are still laughing about it now lol

I cant believe im now 31. It was my birthday on saturday. I popped into Wolverhampton with my dad and JT to get a few things and also have lunch. We got back and i opened my pressies. Unfortunatly i managed to leave half of them in Sheffield so didnt get to open loads. Off my parents i got some new PJs and some of my fave toiletries L’occitaine. Off JT i have had a couple of CDs and we are off out for a meal tonight and then off to the Panto. On the saturday evening my dad cooked us a gorgeous christmas dinner and then we had trifle for pudding. We also got to watch the X Factor final so a nice relaxing day spent with my family.
We were so tired over the weekend though as it had been a manic week. On the wednesday we had my first birthday meal in Sheffield and we went for a curry. Thursday we were cooking and preparing for the Staff night out. It ended up being a really good night and everyone seemed to have a good time. I managed to embarrass myself though which i will talk about in the next entry <blush>.
On the friday we were planning on popping in to see some of my friends but we were on a bit of a go slow after thursday, so we headed straight for mom and dads. My nephew was there so it was good to see him to give him his late birthday pressie.
Sunday we didnt do much apart from doing a bit of shopping and then going to my old churchs carol service. I used to perform in them for years and always sang a solo, so although it was brilliant, it was wierd seeing it as a audience member.
Monday my mom went to the hospital and they have told her the excellent news that her heart is ok. We are all so relieved and its excellent news for us all.
Anyway i think thats enough for now.

It was so nice having a 3 day week last week. Wednesday i only had to actually work up until lunch time as i was spending the afternoon with 4 other staff members learning how to be fire wardens. We are now the official fire wardens for our floor at work, we got a certificate so very exciting and something new to put on my CV

I cannot believe how organised we have been this year. All but a couple of the Christmas cards have been wrote and posted. There is less than 5 presents left to get, the rest are all wrapped. The tree is up and the lights, we just need to put up the outside stuff etc. The only thing we need to sort now is the food although we have got the turkey which has been ordered from this local farm shop that got recommended to us. They do really nice local produce, which apart from meat also includes amazing cheeses, sauces, eggs, potatos and seasonal veg.
As its our first Christmas as a married couple we are spending it together. Then on the 27th JTs mom, dad, nan and grandad are here for the day till about tea time. Hopefully then my parents are coming up with the dog. I really hope they can make it and nothing like the weather, or max not liking the car stops them coming up as it wont be christmas if we dont get to see them.
It will feel odd just me and JT on Christmas day, but we have such busy lives it just seemed like the right thing to do just for one year.
Talking of busy lives this week is no exception. Tuesday we are finally getting round to our Christmas baking. Wednesday is usually small group but we are all going out for a meal for my birthday. Thursday its my staff Christmas meal which me and JT are catering for. There are about 35 of us in total so it will be lots of sarnies etc to make. Friday we are heading down to my parents. Hopefully we will be able to see most of my friends on the friday and then saturday (my birthday 31st) we will be having a turkey dinner and a nice day with my parents. Sunday we are going to my home church’s carol service. We are staying an extra night at my parents as mom has to have some test at the hospital on monday so we wanted to stick around a bit longer. We are hoping to get back about 7ish so that JT can have his last youth team for the year and i have a friend coming round for tea.
Anyway lunch is nearly over so im going to get back to work.

As i may have mentioned before JT works at our church. There are two sites he works from and last tuesday he decided to get some petrol before travelling to the 2nd site. He was just getting ready to pull out onto one of the busy roads in Sheffield and another car went into the back of him. Our car didnt have the handbrake on so there was no major damage to the car apart from a biggish scratch to the back of it.
As soon as JT rang me i was able to leave work and as soon as i got home we had to leave again so that i could take him to the hospital as he was in pain with his stomach and shoulder, basically in pain from where the seatbelt was. Our nearest hospital walk in centre was unable to help as it was abdominal and it was a nurse only ward, so i had to drive him to the other hospital on the other side of the city. It took us ages to get a parking space. We didnt have to wait too long in the hospital though and he was told that he just had some bad bruising and to pop back if it got any worse.
By friday he was still in pain so he booked in to see the doctor. The doctor was concerned he may have done something to his spein(spell?) so i left work again so i could go back to the hospital with him. This time our friend Pete took us incase JT had to stay in and then i wouldnt be able to get the car back as i havnt passed my test yet. Pete was a star and even picked us back up again later in the afternoon. The hospital gave JT loads of test and they have confirmed that his ribs etc are just bruised and there is nothing more serious.
He is still off work at mo as he is still in pain but is hoping to get back to work at some point this week. The problem is, is that his job can be quiet manual and he cant lift much at the moment without being in pain.
Im just so relieved that he is ok and that nothing more serious happened to him.
